Enjoy the meals at your pleasure, but here’s an example of how we plan out the meals during the week:
Set Your Pace
- If you’re a beginner at meal prep: Be prepared to set aside 2-3 hours. Once mise en place is complete, all of these recipes can be completed one by one.
- If you’re a meal prep pro, use the sequenced steps below: These steps give you the flexibility to cook items simultaneously in a sequence of events.
- Be sure to set timers and check on food items to avoid overcooking. Sequencing will save you time and meal prep can be done in 1-2 hours.
Meal Prep Run Down
Chopping and Prepping Ingredients:
- Before you fire up the stove, get all your ingredients chopped, measured, and ready to go. Trust us, this makes everything smoother and way more enjoyable.
- Go ahead and preheat that oven to 400°F. (The baked potato recipe says 425°F, but to simplify things, bake it at 400°F and just add an extra 5–10 minutes until it’s fork-tender.)
- Scan through your recipes and grab all your pans, utensils, and gadgets—you’re about to rock this prep session!
Cooking Phase 1: Start with the Instant Pot Beef
- Beef Soft Tacos & BBQ Stuffed Potatoes: Save time by cooking all the beef using the soft taco recipe. Once it’s cooked and delicious, just portion some out for the Stuffed Potatoes, stir in BBQ sauce, and boom—you’ve got the filling for your stuffed potatoes!
Cooking Phase 2: Oven items (while Instant Pot Beef cooks)
- Baked Oats: Assemble and pop ‘em in the oven..
- Baked Potato: Place your potato on a separate tray and let it roast until fluffy and tender.
- Don’t forget to set those timers!
Cooking Phase 3: Stove Top Items
- Fried Egg: While the oven and Instant Pot are working their magic, whip up your fried egg and hash combo.
- Celery and Peanut Chicken Stir Fry: After breakfast is done, stir-fry your chicken—it’s fast, flavorful, and full of crunch.
- Broccoli: Last but not least, steam the broccoli to perfection.
Final Steps:
- Pesto Shrimp: Assemble these beauties and get ready for a burst of flavor!
- Storage: Once all the dishes are fully cooked, plate everything into individual containers. Allow them to cool to room temperature before placing them in the refrigerator for storage. This will keep your meals fresh and ready to enjoy throughout the week.
If you’re sequencing your meal prep, be sure to keep an eye on everything! Make sure food is kept refrigerated under 40F degrees until ready to eat.
Assembly Tips
- Evenly divide meals according to the serving size
- Let all items cool before placing them in the refrigerator
- Keep all items refrigerated under 40°F until ready to eat or reheat
- Breakfast: Baked oats and hash meals reheat like a dream in the microwave.
- Lunch: Pesto shrimp pizza is tasty chilled; tacos are microwave-ready.
- Dinner: Heat and eat—both dinner options reheat easily in the microwave
Extra Flavors and Substitutions
- Baked Oats: Pair with a dollop of yogurt for bonus protein.
- Fried Eggs and Sausage Hash: Cook your eggs just the way you love ‘em.
- Shrimp Mini Pizzas: Swap in mini tortillas if you don’t have English muffins.
- Soft Tacos: Salsa it up—your fave kind!
- Stuffed Baked Potato: Add extra toppings like jalapeños for a kick
- Chicken Stir Fry: Serve with cauliflower rice or wrap in crisp lettuce
- Supplement meals with additional snacks such as fresh veggies and fruit for additional daily caloric needs. You can use lime/lemon and olive oil in place of salad dressing
Extra Leftover Ingredients Not Used
- Protein: Freeze any uncooked meats and save for a later recipe, or you can cook the full amount, and freeze the portion that you do not eat, and save for later use.
- Fruit: Use leftover fruit in smoothies, on top of yogurt, or with your cereal
- Veggies: Freeze any leftover veggies for later use. Use leftover herbs in omelets or other dishes for the weekend
